Chetan Bhagat

chetan-bhagatChetan Bhagat is one of the most popular novelists in India, whose books have been adapted into movies. Chetan Bhagat was born on 22nd April 1974 in New Delhi, India. After finishing school at The Army Public School in New Delhi, he joined IIT Delhi. He completed a post graduation course from IIM Ahmedabad. He is a good writer and even I started reading novel because of his simple English (Just imagine how simple and understandable his English is?).

His Writings

Five point Someone (2004) but I read this only by 2005

One night @ the call center (2005) But I read this by 2008

The three mistakes of my life (2008) I read this by 2008

This all three books talk something usual that we see in our routine life. But way he tells the story is really admiring. Every one who read these books will have a nice in their life. My most favorite book is “Five point Someone”

Five point Someone

Five point Someone

This book is about a three guys in IIT (Hari, Alok and Ryan). The book starts with a disclaimer, “This is not a book to teach you how to get into IIT or even how to live in college. In fact, it describes how screwed up things can get if you don’t think straight.” It’s all about how these three heroes survived there during their engineering studies.

One night @ the call center

one-night-at-call-centerThis is some thing new and imaginary story with some practical perspective. The story about six call center employee Shyam, Priyanka, Vroom, Esha, Radhika, and Military Uncle. It has lot of drama with unpleasant things happening to all of the leading characters. The story takes a dramatic and decisive turn when they get a phone call from God.

The three mistakes of my life

3-mistakesThis is his third book based on a real story. The story about three guys Govind, Omi and Ali. Novel starts with an email to the author from Govind saying that he is going to commit suicide. Author trace out Govind location by his email ID thru orkut.com starts with technological stuffs like that…. Business, Cricket and Religion are the base of this story and it has a nice ending.

Try these books and have a nice time. Happy reading :)

MTC vs Vodafone

I feel there is some relationship between Vodafone Zoo Zoo and MTC logo.

I guess the head of Zoo Zoo and MTC logo resemble the same. If any one suggest a concept of this Zoo Zoo head can leave a message here.

Smirn Off – Cosmopolitan Mix

This is a new experience of drink.
I had bought some Smirn-Off vodka from Bangalore.
We three karthi, Satheesh and I planned to drink this weekend.
We all searched online to have it with a proper mix.
And finally we decided to go for Cosmopolitan Mix.

Now what is called Cosmopolitan Mix…?

It’s a mixture of Vodka, aerated water, lime juice and a strip of Green chili dipped inside.

Friends have a look at the below picture of how karthi beautifully decorated (anyhow that’s his job) the drink.

The taste is too cool. And I recommend everyone to try this.

THAT LAST (LOST) CALL

My first attempt writing a poem.

It was in the month of May,
I am walking alone along the bay.
The walk seemed a lone long way,
Tho’ well trodden, in the mid of the day…

A caller comes a-ringing on my cell phone
Then it sounded like an “I love you” tone.
Took the call, feeling like being newly born
But, no response – the caller had gone!

Oh! How I missed that only call
That reminded me of the past big fall.
My experience now seems a trivial joke to all
Shared with a laugh over a smoke, in a mall.

Forgetting the past affair, I drown in a drink
Of glasses of booze, all filled to the brink.
A girl can be as deadly, as fatal as a knife!
A cut you’ve got can leave a scar for life.

What is Love???*

I was impressed by this very much

A group of 4 to 8 year-old Children was asked, “What does love mean?” The answers they gave were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined.

–”Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday” (Tina – age 7)

–”My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don’t see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.” (Clare – Age 5)

–”When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth.” (Billy – age 4)

–”When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love.” (Rebecca – age 8 )

–”Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.” (Chrissy – age 6 )

–”Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.” (Terri – age 4 )

–”Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.” (Danny – age 7)

–”Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.” (Tommy – age 6 )

–”During my piano recital, I was on a stage and scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn’t scared anymore. That’s love” (Cindy -age 8)

–”Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.” (Mary Ann – age 4 )

Love………… is not only made for lovers……. its also for friends who luv each other sometimes better than a lover . Smile and spread some love today. :-)

Why do men die first?

This is a question that has gone unanswered for centuries, but, now we
know. It requires a bit of explanation!!

If you put a woman on a pedestal and try to protect her from the rat race … you’re a male chauvinist.
If you stay home and do the housework… you’re a pansy.
If you work too hard … there’s never any time for her.
If you don’t work enough … you’re a good-for-nothing bum.

If she has a boring repetitive job with low pay … this is exploitation.
If you have a boring repetitive job with low pay … you should get off
your lazy behind and find something better.
If you get a promotion ahead of her … that is favouritism.
If she gets a job ahead of you … its equal opportunity.

If you mention how nice she looks … its sexual harassment.
If you keep quiet … its male indifference.
If you cry, you’re a wimp.
If You don’t … you’re an insensitive bastard.

If you make a decision Without consulting her . you’re a chauvinist.
If she makes a decision without consulting you … she’s a liberated woman.
If you ask her to do something she doesn’t enjoy . that’s domination.
If SHE asks you … it’s a favour.

If you appreciate the female form and frilly underwear … you’re a pervert.
If you don’t . you’re gay.
If you like a woman to shave her legs and keep in shape … you’re sexist.
If you don’t … you’re unromantic.

If you try to keep yourself in shape … you’re vain.
If you don’t … you’re a slob.
If you buy her flowers … you’re after something.
If you don’t … you’re not thoughtful.

If you’re proud of your achievements … you’re full of yourself.
If you don’t … you’re not ambitious.
If she has a headache … she’s tired.
If you have a headache … you don’t love her anymore.

If you want it too often … you’re oversexed.
If you don’t … There must be someone else.

Why do men die first ?

Because they want to.

And that has made all the difference

Dasavatharam – Chaos Theory, Butterfly Effect

Kamal Haasan featuring Dasavatharam in ten different roles is making waves and also getting mixed reviews around the world.

One should understand the basic concept of the Dasavatharam storyline — Chaos theory, Butterfly Effect. Chaos theory or “Butterfly effect” has been shown in movies like “It?s a Wonderful Life”, “The Jurassic Park” etc…

Some guys have claimed they haven’t understood chaos theory which plays such an important part in the film. I’ve decided to explain it a bit so that people can appreciate the brilliance of the film.

What is Chaos theory ?
Basically a chaotic system is one wherein long term predictions are impossible. Like for example, if I push a car, I know that it is going to move and it will continue to do so if I go on pushing it on and on. However, in a chaotic system, this situation cannot be predicted over a long period of time. Weather, for example, is a chaotic system. No matter how good your instruments are, you simply cannot predict the weather with 100 per cent accuracy over a long term basis and forecast it.

What is the Butterfly Effect?
It is the most important component of a chaotic system. Basically, small perturbations results in amplifications which completely destroys the original nature of the system and makes prediction impossible. If a butterfly flaps its wings in Africa, it could result in
a cyclone in USA.(Mark the word COULD.) A highly dumbed down explanation of the butterfly effect is in the film Anniyan, where Vikram’s sister dies because a liquor shop owner sells liquor on a dry day.

OK, how does Dasavatharam incorporate it?

In essence, Dasavatharam talks about eight characters who are inconsequential as such, but are integrated in a larger picture. Without Bush, the plane would have been called back. Without Shinghen, Govind would be dead. Without the tsunami, the world would have been destroyed. Even Krishnaveni (the old woman) plays a very important role. If she had not put the vial in the idol, maybe Govind would have recovered it then and there and a powerful weapon would have been unleashed. The very fact that it went into the idol meant that it was being accelerated to its destiny. Without Kaifulllah Khan, Govind would have never escaped… the list simply goes on.

OK, so does the film talk about theism or atheism?
Neither. It talks about how humans drive the destiny of the world.

The idol that is drowned in the sea along with Rangarajan in 12th century by Chozha king results in a fault being developed at the bottom of the ocean and creates tremors more than 800 years later. These tremors result in the Tsunami. This again is a classic case of Butterfly Effect wherein a seemingly inconsequential event (the drowning of the idol) saves Tamil Nadu from being wiped off the face of the earth.

Now tell me, does THIS movie lack a story? This movie has the most beautiful story ever attempted in Indian cinema. Unfortunately, Indian viewers and critics are obsessed with the “boy meets girl” and “revenge” themes, so they fail to see the story in this master piece.
